Trump’s Strong Tactic Forces China To Abandon North Korea In Event Of War

The People’s Republic of China will not come to the aid of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un if it launches missiles against the United States and its territories and Washington retaliates.

This warning from Beijing came as President Donald Trump doubled down on his counter-threats against Pyongyang in recent days.

The Chinese stance was reported on the Global Times newspaper, which experts say reflect the official policy of the Communist Party despite not being the official mouthpiece of the government.

In the Global Times editorial, China reiterates that it will “respond with a firm hand” if its interests are jeopardized.

“China should also make clear that if North Korea launches missiles that threaten U.S. soil first and the U.S. retaliates, China will stay neutral,” it said.

This also comes ahead of a Communist Party congress in October, in which President Xi Jinping tries to consolidate his power at the beginning of a second five-year term.

Allen B. West reports:

But this announcement that China “will stay neutral” is a significant victory for Trump, which had made Chinese cooperation in U.S. efforts against Kim a priority.

With a neutral China, North Korea would have little chance of survival against the U.S. should the U.S. attack it in retaliation.

There’s little doubt Kim Jong Un realizes this, and will hopefully consider it before sending missiles towards the United States.
